Spring
7:59AM. I’m walking from the parking lot to work, hurrying, dreading being late again. The early morning air is cold and fresh; I breathe deeply, filling my lungs; expanding them. I pass the swimming pool and manicured lawn before reaching the intersection near my building. I’m smiling now.

Curry
Drizzling today. Cold wind sweeps over the concrete plaza, bending the upright pampass grass. I'm alone on the plaza with a plate of hot curry over rice all to myself.
