You can try using the checklist above, and remember to include:
- A season or a reference to a season using evocative "season words"
- evoke a feeling or a moment in time
- present what caused the feeling rather than describing the feeling itself
- write your haiku about a mundane/every day topic
- split the haiku into two parts and include a shift using a kireji, or cutting word
- write your haiku in the present tense
